We want your handmade cutting board to last for years to come! With a little love and care, your board will remain beautiful and functional. Here are some easy tips to keep it in top shape.
- After each use, wash your cutting board with warm water and mild dish soap. Please do not soak it in water or put it in the dishwasher, as that will cause the wood to warp or crack.
- Always dry your cutting board immediately with a clean towel. Let it air dry completely before storing it to prevent moisture buildup.
- To keep the wood nourished, apply food-safe mineral oil or board butter every few weeks (or when the wood starts to look dry). Just rub the oil in with a clean cloth, let it soak in for a few hours, and then wipe off any excess.
- While our boards are tough, never place hot pots or pans directly on your board.
- Store your cutting board in a dry area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, which can cause the wood to crack or fade.
